Safety Protocol

The world has gone through a terrible ordeal with the Covid-19 pandemic. Our office is committed to the safety of our patients, as well as our staff. We have implemented the latest guidelines from the CDC, OSHA, as well as the American Dental Association and the N.C. State Board of Dental Examiners. As changes are indicated by these government agencies, we will adapt out protocol to meet those standards of care.

When you call our office, you will be asked a series of questions, as a pre-screening for symptoms of Covid-19. Upon arrival, you will be asked these questions again to check for changes that may have occurred since your initial contact with the office.

When you arrive, we ask that you call the office to receive instructions upon when to enter the office for your appointment. We do this to minimize the number of patients in the office at one time. We also ask that you refrain from bringing others to your appointment, unless they are needed to assist you.

When you enter the office, there will be a hand sanitizing station for all to use. We encourage patients to wear their masks while in the office. If you do not have a mask, one can be provided for you. All patients will have their temperature recorded by a non-contact thermometer before proceeding to the treatment area. Any patients with a temperature above 100.4 will be rescheduled for a later date.

All instruments and handpieces used in our office are sterilized in a steam autoclave. Items that cannot be sterilized or disinfected are disposable. Operatories utilize a combination of barriers and hospital grade disinfectants to keep surfaces clean and sanitized.

Our office utilizes high volume suction, as well as external suction devices to capture aerosols that may be generated during dental procedures. Air filters in the office have been equiped with HEPA filters to also reduce particles from the air.

Staff members have their temperature recorded twice daily to monitor for any changes in their health. All members utilize personal protective equipment that follows the guidelines set forth by the CDC for everyone`s protection.
